THE PLASMA ADVANTAGE
Topanga is leading the next revolution in lighting. The new solid state driven high intensity source is designed to replace the inefficient lamps in outdoor and commercial environments. Engineered to optimize light, Topanga’s product lineup includes light output from 5,000 to 25,000 lumens in warm, cool, and white light color options. The point source design allows for unique industrial design light fixtures with smaller footprints and lower fixture level costs. Our technology roadmap provides for lumen efficiencies that will exceed the Department of Energy’s goals of 150 lumens per watt fixture efficacy before the 2015 timeline. Cities, Utilities, Companies and Building Managers can achieve ROI’s of 3 years or less and improve LEED building performance with the high efficiency and low maintenance Topanga product line.
There are 5.5 million bulbs sold every day including incandescent, halogen, or fluorescent lamps worldwide. All of these lights are extended sources of light and either directional such as LED’s or distribute light in all directions such as fluorescents or high intensity discharge tubes. Whether used in fixtures such as recessed down lights or luminaires only point-source lamps support the design of luminaires that are similarly compact. When properly designed, these luminaires can provide efficient, glare-free light that produces a bright, high-clarity visual and safe environment. By contrast, the use of extended light sources often leads to fixtures with less than elegant size and proportion that can visually confuse a space and attract undesired attention due to their size and lack of adequate lamp shielding.
APL offers efficient, tailored light that lasts at least 50,000 hours and luminaires designed to take advantage of all the benefits of plasma can:
- Exceed the efficacy of any incandescent, fluorescent, halogen, HID and induction Luminaire at 125 lm/W
- Exceed the color performance of even the best CMH (ceramic metal halide) with CRI ranges from 70 to 95
- Match/Exceed the durability of HPS (high pressure sodium) at 50,000 hours
- Produce lifetimes of 5 times longer than MH (metal halide) lamps before requiring maintenance
- Reduce the environmental impact of light: less power-plant pollution, and less landfill waste
